Instrumentation & Control

Vision and Mission

Instrumentation and control engineering department aims to deepen the knowledge and skills of the students on the concept of both theories and practical’s that will equip them in their professional work involving analysis, system implementation ,operation, production, control and maintenance of the various application in the field of instrumentation and control. Instrumentation is a very broad area in the sense that it has an interdisciplinary character. There is a proliferation of a variety of Instrumentation systems for a variety of purpose. There is hardly any area of Engineering, Science and Technology where Instrumentation in one form or the other is not needed. As a certain process is becoming more and more automated, the need for a closer monitoring of inputs and responses become more obligatory and the instruments at the component and sub - system levels tend to become more and more integrated.

Today’s Industrial Automation systems are being built based on the latest advances in Instrumentation, Information, Communication, and Networking technologies apart from sensor and control technologies. The objectives of the department have been to make the students proficient in these technologies in general and towards the deployment, these technologies in building Industrial Automation Systems. Needless to say, and Instrumentation engineer would find tremendous scope of work and challenge in the field of instrumentation and control in near future. Also, a student of Instrumentation Engineering would have to shoulder greater responsibilities and would be expected to have wider knowledge of fast changing technologies and their applications. To fulfill this aim, the Instrumentation and control Department has an extremely capable faculty having rich, wide and varied practical experience.

The mission of the Department have been to prepare student Industry-Ready by aligning Instrumentation Technology Education Program to the current technology and to make the world better place by using the power of engineering principles, techniques and system.

There are plenty of openings for Instrumentation Diploma Holders. The Diploma Holders find openings as Maintenance and Control Engineers, System Implementation, Operation Engineer, Production Engineer in industry. They can be absorbed as Trainees in reputed Public Sector / Private Sector companies.

Besides having its own Departmental Book Bank the Department has the following laboratories:

  • Industrial Automation
  • Process Control Instrumentation
  • Advance Control System
  • Process of Automatic Control
  • Industrial Instrumentation
  • Measurement System

Quality Policy

The department has very distinct approach .Its main objective is to impart value based as well as application oriented education of excellent quality to young aspirant

To achieve this, the department has highly qualified faculty from highly reputed institute. Various training programmes and workshops are being attended by faculty of department to upgrade themselves as per the latest teaching methods. Their consistent guidance to the students has been producing excellent Results .The approach of the department is to make the learning process for the students interesting and participative with experimental learning and strong emphasis on practical education and exposure to real time scenarios through strong industry interface. To equip students with knowledge, the department not only teaches circuits, systems and specialized techniques used Instrumentation and Control technology career fields but it also exposes students to a combination of classroom theory and practical application in a laboratory environment.

The department with the help of training and placement cell organizes seminar on latest technologies like PLC, SCADA and Robotics to acquaint the students with latest industry trends.

We have a focused approach for the all-round personality development of the students by organizing guest lecturers by Industry experts, seminars and industrial visits so that students get required industry exposure to the latest developments in the field. The department leaves no stone unturned to motivate student in participating in all curricular activities in and out of the college.
